Road Repair Project Update 6-27-2014
Request Assistance from all Residents. If possible limit parking and or driving on the newly seeded and matted areas adjacent to roadways. If necessary for guests or residents to park in these areas, please try to utilize the open spaces between the flagging and park in the area where there is established grass. Please note the parking lot east of the playground has been enlarged southerly toward the Community Building allowing spaces for an additional 18 vehicles.
East Lake Drive. Kerns Excavating is working on completing seeding and mulching of the green space between East Lake Drive and the levee. Cleanup work and adjustment of the inlets is expected to be completed the week of June 30, 2014. Removal of the utility pole near lot 10 is expected to be completed by July 2.
West Shore Drive. Clean up work is expected to be completed the week of June 30, 2014 on West Shore Drive.
Bull Frog Bay Drive. Kerns Excavating is working on completing seeding matting of the drainage swale adjacent to Lot 217. Clean up and seeding in the area of the area of the storm sewer and drainage swale adjacent to Lot 217 is expected to be completed the week of June 30, 2014.
Asphalt Repair. Old Castle Materials Midwest Co. d/b/a/ Omni Engineering of Omaha, NE will be making repairs to the section of the asphalt road damaged during the flood fight and restoration efforts. This includes repair to the cuts through West Shore Drive near the Caretaker’s home. Anticipated start date is to be July 21, 2014.
Work is scheduled to be completed in July 2014.
Chip Seal. Sta-Built Construction of Harlan, IA will be stabilizing the road base on East Lake Drive, West Shore Drive and Bull Frog Bay Drive. Upon stabilization of the road base a seal coat surface will be applied to all roads including Mid Lake Drive. The seal coat surface incudes the application of asphaltic cement and loose rock. Some tracking of the loose stone is expected in this process.
Work is scheduled to be begin on or near July 7, 2014 and be completed by July 31, 2014.
No work is allowed on July 3, 2014 through July 6, 2014 and the road will be in a passable condition for passenger vehicles during the period of July 3 through July 6, 2014. Chip seal surfacing will not be applied until July 7, 2014. Weekend and night work is allowed with the exception of the days listed.
